Stretching across eastern Connecticut from Thompson to East Hampton, the Air Line State Park Trail is a linear trail which dates from the railway built in the 1870s.
Alice Newton Street Memorial Park and connecting trails provide walkers of all ages with easy access to the varied flora and fauna of Woodbridge, and the nearby Wepawaug Falls.
American Legion and Peoples State Forests feature a large network of forested trails along the west branch of the Farmington River with scenic viewpoints and picnic areas throughout as well as a Nature Center.
The trails at the Atkinson Family Preserve and Thompson Brook Preserve offer an easy-moderate hike with occasional exposed rocks and roots through a forest of rock features, vernal pools and various wildlife.
