This off-road section is part of the East Coast Greenway and was completed in 2024. It closes a part of the vital gap in the non-motorized transportation link between the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail and the Hartford area.
From the intersection of Main Street and Route 189 in Tariffville, the path runs parallel to Route 189 into Bloomfield until it turns south along the former Connecticut Western Railroad bed. At the intersection of Tariffville Road and Hoskins Road, the trail crosses both roads and continues southeast towards Tunxis Avenue (Route 189). After following Tunxis Avenue for a short time, it crosses over to a parking lot on Day Hill Road.
