Robbins/O'Leary/Blain Preserve contains a network of easy to walk, family friendly trails with access via a parking area at the end of Fred Davis Road.
Although much of the land had previously been farmed, in more recent years the property was worked for sand and gravel, and the sandy soil supports plant species such as pitch pine, alder, and sweet fern, and early successional habitat is abundant. The land also provides suitable habitat for rare butterflies. Forested wetlands and vernal pools on the property support a variety of amphibian species, including blue-spotted salamander, and several uncommon bird species.
The distance up to where the trail splits is just short of 0.3 miles, the following sections are 0.5 miles towards the east or 0.4 miles towards the west, respectively. Hiking both spurs out and back adds up to a total length of 2.4 miles.
Find more details on the Wyndham Land Trust website. Volunteers are always welcome to help steward the property and trails.
