Description

Compo Beach trail follows along the town beach and adjacent recreational areas that offer swimming, picnic areas, barbecue grills, ballfields, basketball courts, a marina, and a boat ramps. Facilities include restrooms and changing areas.

Fishing from the rock jetties or the rocky point beyond the cannons is popular during the warmer months and can be very productive.

In the winter, birdwatchers use this area to look for loons, grebes, scooters, and other typical northern waterfowl.

Visitors may want to continue walking east along Soundview Drive and also visit Old Mill Beach, Sherwood Mill Pond Preserve, or Sherwood Island State Park
