An accessible boardwalk starting from the CTDEEP Marine Fisheries Headquarters and Boating Division office provides an opportunity to visit the Connecticut River and fringing salt marshes. At the end of the ~ 0.2 mile boardwalk there is a raised viewing platform where you can observe nesting osprey in the marshes and boats on Long Island Sound. This is a great spot for marine fishing or crabbing and for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
