The 4.5 mile long Middlebury Greenway traverses the suburban town of Middlebury. The trail follows the route of an historic trolley line that once connected Waterbury to Woodbury. It generally parallels Route 64 from Route 63 in the east to Lake Quassapaug in the west near the Woodbury town line.
Visitors can learn about historical sites along the trail, visit businesses in Middlebury's commercial center including bars, restaurants, and shops, or visit an amusement park or farm stand. There are also several parks along the route to recreate at or enjoy nature.
From I-84, take Exit 17. Travel north on Route 63, then west on Route 64. Dedicated trail parking is along Route 64 at Steinmann Avenue, Chase Road, Meadowview Park, near Abott Farm Road, and at Quassapaug Field. Additional parking may be allowed at businesses and municipal facilities along the route.
