Set on the shores of Red Cedar Lake, Mooween State Park was Camp Mooween until in closed in the 1960s. The park still contains many remnants of the summer camp including building foundations, fireplaces, and equipment.
Mooween State Park is a popular destination for mountain bikers. Throughout the fall and winter of 2016, a dedicated crew of trail builders roughed in and sculpted a network of nearly 10 miles of single-track mountain biking trails. The park now provides a variety of terrain for riders of all abilities. Double track, park roads, and flowing beginner and intermediate level trails wind through stone walls and the old abandoned summer camp. Along the way are opportunities to play on advanced technical features including giant boulders, steep rollers, log skinnies, and 3 foot hucks.
Hikers and equestrians can also enjoy the miles of trails at Mooween State Park.
Hikers please be aware of bikers using the trails.
Bikers please share the trails responsibly.
Caution! Hunting is allowed at Mooween State Park. During hunting season (mid-September to December 31) please take precautions and wear bright colors. There is no hunting on state lands on Sundays.
