The Sue Grossman Still River Greenway Trail runs parallel to Winsted/Torrington Road along the discontinued Naugatuck branch of the New York, New Haven and Hartford railway, with plans to extend the trail into Downtown Torrington and Winsted. The trail is fully accessible with benches along the way. Use caution at several at-grade road crossings. The trail is popular with local residents and offers an excellent cross country skiing option in the winter. Besides opportunities for recreation and the enjoyment of nature, the trail also has informational signs about the history of the area along with access to local businesses.
