Coney Rock Preserve

A wooded ridge including a 1000-foot long ledge offers panoramic vistas of Mansfield Hollow,  Naubesatuck Lake, and Fenton River. Trails pass through old farm roads, hemlock groves, historic stone walls, and wetlands.

Description

Entrance trails are relatively steep. Trails wind through hemlock groves, old farm roads, stone ledges ferns, historic stonewalls, and wetlands to Coney Rock Overlook which offers dramatic views of the Fenton River and Naubesatuck Lake with views of the hills of Scotland, CT in the distance. The preserve is jointly owned by the Town of Mansfield and Joshua's Trust.

Mountain biking and swimming are not permitted.

Trailhead Information

From the intersection of Route 275 and Route 195, go south on Route 195 for 2.9 miles. Turn left at blinker onto Chaffeeville Road. Go 2 miles; parking is on right and left, just past the junction with Mulberry Road.
