Description

The Putnam Bridge Bike Path provides non-motorized access across the Connecticut River. The multi-use trail was opened in 2024. It begins at Naubuc Avenue on the Glastonbury side and Great Meadow Road on the Wethersfield side. From the bridge, travelers have a vantage point view of the Connecticut River, as well as a glimpse of Keeney Cove on the Glastonbury side.

Before accessing the bridge itself from the Glastonbury side, a connector trail turns left and downhill. It crosses under the Route 3 bridge and meets up with the South Meadows Trail, another multi-use trail that links to the Goodwin University Campus, and from there to Great River Park in East Hartford.

On the Wethersfield side, the ramp off the bridge leads to Great Meadow Road and a parking lot just across the street. From here, the Wethersfield Heritage Bike Route connects north towards historic Old Wethersfield as well as south to the Rocky Hill - Glastonbury Ferry.

Other Information
